Mike Brooks,
Director - Debt Collection Consultant


I have been involved in the collection industry for over 30 years and most of that time has been spent in a supervisory or management position.

I started my career as a bailiff in the North West then moved to Birmingham and joined a fledgling bailiff company as the first certificated bailiff. Following 2 years hard work and rapid growth I was invited to join the board as operations director, a position I held for 8 years.

During this time I was an active board member of The Association of Civil Enforcement Agencies and in December 2006 decided a change of direction was required. My wife Linda and I set up Debt Solve UK Ltd and it was our ambition to create a company that delivered exceptional customer service along with industry leading collection results.

From the outset we chose to specialise in Veterinary and Hospitality debt. With a keen eye on the issues surrounding these businesses we developed a unique debtor engagement  and re education program which provides exceptional customer satisfaction and  industry leading collection results.

We rebranded in 2014 and now trade as DSL. Linda and I are extremely proud of our business which has developed into one of the best known Veterinary and Hospitality agencies in the UK.

I have spent the last 20 years in debt collection and credit control and played a major part in the development of our unique debtor engagement  and re education program.

My initial experience was built around the credit control department of a large national engineering company and I frequently negotiated payment of debts in excess of hundreds of thousands pounds.

As Managing Director I continually strives for best practice and actively promote a firm but fair approach in the way the DSL team go about collecting client monies.

The team at DSL strive to secure the financial future of our customers - Superd Credit Control and a measured collection process will always achieve outstanding results and exceed industry standards.

I have 5 years debt negotiation experience and was recently asked to join the management team as office manager. I love working as part of a team and being part of the decision making process.

I am mum to my 2 year old son who is often more challenging than our most ‘difficult’ customers - being a mum to boys isn’t for the faint hearted!

Likes - Good food, comedy and trips to the salon

Dislikes - Being without a full set of nail extensions, cold weather and lazy days

I am relatively late comer to the industry. I joined the team at DSL two years ago and I have been on a steep learning curve ever since, standards are high and compliance is non negotiable. Prior to joining DSL I worked in the customer service department of a large transport company for over 10 years.

I have been married for 12 years and have a 9 year old daughter.

Likes - Sport, good food and an evening with friends.
